Weird Harvard situation

Hey guys so I'm not really sure what to make of this but my dad has got me an interview for Harvard with the associate dean of admissions (I think that's the title!) and the college is going to pay for dinner/ all expenses. My dad worked at Harvard for 2 decades a while ago but now he works at a different college in the west coast. How helpful could this interview be? My gpa is 3.6/3.9 weighted (LOW) 2120 sat bit really amazing ECs. The gpa is low because I go to the most competitive school in westcoast/usa so our deans tell us it's ok if the gpa is low. Anyways, is this interview a game changer or just a show of respect to my dad...? Really confused!

Show of respect. However, Harvard likes to admit the connected, so if your dad is a hot shot, you have a good chance.

As a sign of respect to your dad, Harvard will not reject u. They will WL you if they don’t want you.
