Hey guys! I recently got a 31 composite on the plan test. My breakdown was 30-reading 32-math 32-english 31-science. I missed only one question on the entire test and it was in science hence the 31. However, I'm wondering why the reading maxed out at a 30 even though I was under the belief that each section was out of 32? Was it due to a strange curve or something? Thanks!

Are you sure you only missed 1 question? I’m not exactly familiar with the PLAN so I’m not sure how that happened. I would assume, like the ACT, that a perfect raw score would give you the max amount of points.

I am sure. We got our score reports back with the questions we missed and it said I only missed one on the science section.

I forgot how the PLAN scores were reported as it has been several years for my D. But for ACT, the subsection scores do not refer directly to the number of correct answers. They are still based on the curves. Having full subsection scores only mean you are in the top division of the subsections while you may still make 1 mistake or so that may put your overall section score in the second division (ie, not full section score).

Yeah this happened to me too! I got a 27 in the reading section and I only missed one question. In math I missed 2 questions and I got a 32, something is messed up with their scoring.

Thanks your help. I got it now :D
