Hi, I took the ACT PLAN test (it's a practice ACT for sophomores) back in October and got my results today. The score report says that, in the reading section, I "correctly answered 25 out of 25 questions," that I "omitted 0 questions," and that I "incorrectly answered 0 questions." Sounds great, right? I got a scaled score of 30 (the score ranges from 1-32 on the PLAN). I know that you can get a question wrong and still get a full score of 32, but I didn't realize you could answer everything right and not get a full score. As a bit of an SAT analogy, I got every question right and got a 750. Could someone shed some light on this? Thanks!

Did you miss stuff on the other sections?

Yes, so my composite score on the entire PLAN was not a 32. But my composite score on the Reading section alone was 30 and I answered all the questions in that section alone correctly, hence my confusion.

My daughter took the Plan last year and got everything right on the English and reading sections- 100th percentile for her school and national- yet also got a 30 for each of those sections and not a 32. I have no explanation. I wondered the same thing.

francismorgan, the scoring on the PLAN struck me as odd. My son got one wrong on the Reading section and his score was a 27! That seems really harsh. He got 3 wrong on the Math and scored a 31???

Same situation as OP. Really irritating though, as it kept me from getting a 32 composite.
