WhartonAdvisor: Does the adcom pick out wharton students based on stats (SAT)? It seems like they do based off the high statistics for wharton. Is there a more in depth anaylsis of each applicant?

How many times do you ask the same question dude? WA will probably say: "the admissions process is one that is holistic, we look at the WHOLE applicant." Obviously..stats are very much a part of the whole..

How many times do you want to hear the same thing? I can copy and paste it a few if you want...

calm the **** down. your taking this fourms stuff way to seriously.

"your taking this fourms stuff way to seriously."

Haha, no offense or anything excel, but you have 1,866 posts and boxesarefun only has 98, I think you're taking this forum a bit more seriously than he is.

I started before him.
the only reason I am telling him this is because he keeps on bashing me with his wise@$$ remarks.

ask a stupid question...

Quick question about thank you notes..email or mail?

Ah but you see..I try to ask questions that can't be easily answered by simply perusing a college's website, or by simply using the search feature..like say

ah well..we can play the find posts and post them game all day..but I'd win since you have more posts..

Hi WhartonAdvisor,

You mentioned in one of your earlier posts about being able to get 2 degrees for the price of one! It seems like a great opportunity that several schools would not offer. However, from your experience (since you also studied at Wharton), do 2 degrees (I am referring to the M + T program) put you at any advantage in getting a finance / banking related job compared to a student having only one degree from Wharton but more than one concentration focus?
Thanks alot:)

Dude, I least I help people on this site. I try my best to help others. you on the other hand have come to me and degraded me from the start. So what if I use this site often? it just goes to show I am interested in going to a really good school. you are probably another rich spoiled kid coming on this site just to flatter yourself. You just want to get into Penn so that you can say you are going to an Ivy. I on the other hand, probably don't have a good chance at Penn, but you know what? I am going to try anyway. Why? because I want to take hold of the opportunity called success. I have taken a lot of shlt from people on this site and I am not going to start taking it from you.

I really hope you get rejected (but at the end of the day we all know colleges end up admitting people like you $$$)

haha..let the record show that excel was the one that initiated personal attacks.

Tis a pity..such an impassioned textual speech from one who is so quick to judge others...

You guys are so childish! Grow up.

hmm..perhaps you are right..However, that post was just a slight dig that I was too lazy to verify..I didn't actually know his stats. Whatever..I'll be the first to apologize then.

Penn student, a concentration is only 4 classes in Wharton. Assuming you've taken some finance classes, getting an I-banking job from M+T will probably be easier rather than harder than a whartonite with 1+ concentrations (assuming everything else equal). I-banking is a very quantitative job and an engineering degree displays that you are capable of/accustomed to handling numbers on a regular basis. The only disadvantage is that engineering students tend to have lower GPAs. However, if you can keep your GPA at a good level, then you will certainly have a leg up.

Also, I'd recommend you not focus so much on I-banking so early. They make 80k+ because they are essentially working two jobs with the hours they put in.
