Hello new Hoyas!! First of all, congrats!! I was in your shoes just a year ago, I remember how exciting and surreal it all is. Trust me, it only gets better from here. In the next few months, you're going to get more and more into the Hoya spirit (I remember how exciting it was just to find out my University ID and email address!!). Hopefully Georgetown was at the top of your list, but whether you're waiting to hear back from other schools or you've already sent in your deposit, I'm sure you have questions... or maybe you just want to talk to a student and get the feel of the school. I've been home for five days and I already miss Georgetown soooo much-- I will be more than happy to talk about Georgetown for hours, and hopefully help make this decision a little clearer for you, or let you get even more pumped for what will be an AMAZING experience.

Let me tell you a little about myself so you know what I can answer. I'm a freshman in the College, I'm an intended English major, and I'm in a year-long intense interdisciplinary study program called the Liberal Arts Seminar. I'm also taking Italian, I started last semester in Intensive Basic and I plan on continuing. I'm a member of GAAP (you probably got a congratulatory call from one of us earlier in the week), I'm an editor for The Hoya (the best newspaper on campus... not that I'm biased), and I'm a tour guide, so I"m used to answering questions, and I have a good handle on most of the basic information about the school.

Don't be shy about asking anything.. I'd also be happy to answer any questions or concerns parents on the boards may have. If you'd prefer to email me, go ahead and do so at mja58@georgetown.edu.

Congratulations again! I truly love Georgetown more than I could have imagined, and I'm not alone--it is unbelievably rare to even hear about someone who isn't having the time of their life at Georgetown. It has been the most rewarding, exciting, and challenging (in the best way) time of my life, and I know that it's only the beginning. Hope to hear from you/see you on the Hilltop!
