Well-Balanced College for Geophysics

Hi guys. I'm currently about to finalize my choices of colleges that i'm going to apply for for attendance in the Fall of 2013. I'm an International Student from Singapore intending to study Geophysics(Glaciology) in the US and am looking to go on to graduate school later on.

Having spent much time researching, I have narrowed by choices down to 2 colleges : (#1 choice)University of Washington and (#2 choice)University of Oregon.

However, I still am not 100% sure of my decision and hope you guys could help me out a little.

Geophysics includes Physics/Maths/Computer Science and Geology as well as some chemistry and statistics. Thus a school with a strong/well-rounded undergraduate program for all these subjects would be ideal. In addition, other factors play a part as well.

Size : Medium size ( Prob. around 10-20k students)
Weather : Both UO and UW have mostly dark and rainy climates
Things to do and social scene
Costs : Both UW and UO are about 40-45k for International Students
Prestige : UW prob. more so than UO

Now my scores and stats aren't bad and can definitely match up to the Ivies but UO/UW were chosen due to family connections and my desire for a well-balanced college life(Study/Social/Activities). UW also has a very good Glaciology Grad Department which was its main draw.

I would probably consider UW a match(Possibly undermatched) and UO a safety school and this is what worries me. Are there any other possible colleges with a good strong background in Geophysics and also fits the criteria for my ideal school? UC Berkeley?

Please help and thanks
