Wellesley Class of 2014: Early Decision

@niightingagle: I don’t believe Wellesley has any specific information needed for premeds. Did you just list it as your intended major? If so, it won’t hurt you at all. Many, many people apply to Wellesley as a premed, many of whom also end up changing majors.

As for stats, you can usually look at people’s previous posts on CC to take a look. I have a 1470/2200 SAT and a 96.7 WGPA.

@haematic: You asked me where I’m from, and I don’t know why but now It feels as if it would bring bad luck if I’d reveal too much right now… It’s silly, I know  But I can say I’m from Europe and I attend UWC (if you heard about it? - United World College)

The same feels for SAT and the other stuff. I’m just gonna say that I don’t feel too confident with my scores…

Wow guys, its so close.
11 days.
Im so worried… I need to start filling out other apps.
:(

@niightingale- I remember you. You said I didn’t look like a consistant student.
xD
I have a 1970 SAT and a 3.8 UW GPA.

Speaking of bad luck, does anyone here own/wear any Wellesley apparel? It’s always the worst when you see someone wearing a college sweatshirt, only for that same person to be rejected from that same college. I’m waiting to hear if I’m accepted or not before I buy that Wellesley sweatshirt I’m longing for.

Also, is everyone else filling out other applications before they hear back from Wellesley? I’m putting most of my essays off until winter break (which is a bad idea, but I can’t help myself).

haha no but i really want my wellesley crew neck! i hate seeing my classmates in their brown and princeton and mit stuff and im like, guys, you’re not even in yettt.

well, since you guys dont know me i might as well tell u my stats! 4.0gpa 4.83 wgpa 4 for regular, 5 for honors, 6 for ap. 1440/1600 sat wo writing 2090with

not starting other college apps. even though i want to do ed II to either kenyon smith or vassar if i dont get innnn. buuutt hopefully that wont happeenn

I gave in and bought a Wellesley hoodie ages ago. It’s my pride and joy.
But I don’t know if I can ever look at it again if I don’t… you know.

Same here. I go to this website like everday where you can design your own Wellesley Apparel and stare at it longingly for a long time. I’m too afraid to buy it.

here’s the link:http://www.zazzle.com/girls_go_to_the_ivieswomen_go_to_wellesley_tshirt-235239182454068213

I really want a blue/green sweatshirt with the Big W logo.

Here’s the break down for my app:
ACTscores: decent
GPA: Not so hot, Probs my worst part (our highschool sends this thing that says it’s challenging)
Essay: f’ing rocks, possibly my best asset.
Recs: Good, I hope
Couselor rec: Either really good or really bad
Extra currics: Decent. Leadership involves being captin of xc team and teaching little kids at sunday school.
Volunteer: 200+hrs
Interview: Good, I think
Also first generation, but idk if that matters.

I’m first generation as well. It does hold a little bit of weight, but it’s not something that’ll change the fate of your application. It helps them see that you’re new to the application process, and might not have had the same resources as someone whose parents had graduated college.

I like your summary! My interview was okay. I’d like to think I have good ECs, but I have too many for my liking. I have somewhere over 400 hours of volunteering; it’s at a living history museum that I like a lot, which probably explains all the time put into it! Where do you volunteer? (Everyone else, too!)

Check you account please.

“The window for checking your application status online has closed. If you are concerned that your application may not be complete, please call the admission office at 781-283-2270”?

The same happened for me. It’s not the scheduled maintenance time, but it might just be down.

Thank you haematic .I called the college. The administration officer said their Web was been changed. We will know result soon.Good luck for everybody here.

Oh wow, this is really it.
10 days.

I don’t want to buy any Wellesley apparel before I get anything back. I mean, if I didn’t make it in I would be embarassed every time I saw the shirt/hoodie.

what do you guys consider a decent act score ? 33? 34? 35 ? >___>

my heart is breaking.
right now my mindset is that i’m probably not going to get in :frowning: and i’m starting to believe that. so come dec 11, i won’t be too crestfallen.

@nightingale: decent for me is a lil’ lower than the numbers you mentioned.
@haemic: I volunteered at two different hospitals over the summer. Also in Sunday school and my library.

10 days guys, cross your fingers!!!(And good luck to all, including myself) :)

They have probs decided by now! Ok, I’m trembling …

oh, and we’re neck in neck with the Barnard thread.
them: 95 posts
us:100 posts :)

I’ve been reading this thread for some time and decided to post…like all of you i too applied to Wellesley and i cannot believe it is only 10 days away!
Good luck to everyone…
has anyone read the Wellesleyfml.com website??

There’s a freaking wellesleyfml website???

Is it frequented by wellesley prsopective students ?!?!

Omgosh.

That is serious competition.

I just found out that I was accepted to Wellesley through QuestBridge. The email said 6 people were accepted early-anyone here???

Im so nervous about my score. Below a 2000 by 30 points. : (
Just got back from the Wellesley online chat.
It was super amazing!
