Wellesley or Swarthmore for Clinical/Counseling focused psychology?

I am so burnt out with overanalyzing these two schools on my own... Is there anyone who can help shed a little light?

It's coming down to the last two days, and I still have no idea where to go.
Financially, Swarthmore offered me a better deal, but Wellesley is still doable, so I am not considering that.

I am, however, concerned with my opportunities beyond college. I know that I want to go to graduate school for clinical psychology, most likely to become a clinical psychologist/therapist.

^_^

Do you think you’d have less chance at a PhD or PsychD if your undergrad was at one or the other colleges? Seems like they’d both put you squarely at the starting line.

I think that I would have a better chance at entering graduate school right out of Swarthmore and I would have to get a little more research experience if I were at Wellesley

Swarthmore. Getting into grad school in psych can be such an ordeal, so nice to have a smoother path. Also, better financial aid, you report. You will make the best of wherever you land, but sounds like Swarthmore has tipped the scales. Which did you pick?

Hopefully, OP, you’ve chosen by now. But I’m not sure why you think you’d have an easier chance getting into graduate school from Swarthmore than Wellesley. Graduate schools care less about where you go than what you did there, so a Wellesley student with more research experience would be more competitive than a Swarthmore student with less.

But even if prestige becomes a factor, Swarthmore and Wellesley are equally prestigious. You can’t go wrong with the decision.
