Wellesley Potential Financial Aid Appeal, EE likely

Uggghhh. I’m so stressed about whether Wellesley will give me enough aid. I did the College Board calculate and it said my EFC was like 13k, but the MyIntuition calc at Wellesley said 16-22k. These are VERY different numbers.

Additionally, my dad is older so he receives social security money for having a minor child, but this ends when I turn 18 this summer. This reduces our yearly income about 15-20k (I don’t have the exact number rn). Also, they are cutting hours at my dad’s job (my mom is looking for work though), but that is obviously too vague to put in a financial appeal letter.

I believe EE gets everything by late March which gives me about a month before May 1st. If I sent a appeal ASAP after I get my original financial aid letter, will I get a response in time?

Is this even a good reason to write an appeal letter?

Any advice?

Sorry, I’m so stressed.

Sit tight for now. Write the appeal if your aid isn’t enough. They’ll have to respond to you by May 1st–they can’t expect you to commit without an update.

@stargirl3 Of course, but I would hate to be committing to a college soooo close to the deadline. I don’t know…thank you though!
