So, I'm REALLYYY excited to be attending Wellesley in the fall, and having been a varsity cheerleader throughout high school I have this thing about school spirit... I really love it. =] So, I was just wondering... does Wellesley have a mascot? I just haven't heard anything about one.

Not that I know of:

Wellesley College Athletics - BLUE PRIDE

My understanding is that Wellesley is not a rah-rah kind of school, but the athletes really enjoy what they are doing and quite a few people participate in all sorts of club and varsity sports. The school pride is definitely there, but it is not in your face.

May be you can come up with a mascot and petition the administration? When we were at Scripps, I noticed quite a few items with squirrels in the college's bookstore. When I asked if that was the mascot, the girls told me that the official mascot was the Athenas, but the students really liked their furry campus critters and adopted them as the not-so-official one.

Wellesley does not have a mascot. Every semester people complain about the fact and suggest that we should be the Wellesley Wombats.

I believe there are 250 athletes....so 1/10.

We are the 'Wellesley Blue.'

There is a lot of athletic pride within the athletic department. But general Wellesley 'rah rah' pride is lacking (for sports).

BUT friends do come to matches/meets/games if you ask them to come!!
