I read in a Princeton Review book that Wellesley appreciates appreciation expressed towards someone/something. Any suggestions here? I'll be applying ED to Wellesley.

I didn't write anything extra for them (or interview, for that matter...but I got lucky). That said, Wellesley does seem to put a big focus on writing and writing skills, so if you can write well, it's certainly in your best interest to submit another piece. The topic doesn't matter nearly as much as the quality of the work.

There was not a supplemental essay when I applied, but I see there's one that asks why you want to go to Wellesley. I'm not sure how sound that advice is, but make sure when you're expressing appreciation for someone/something that you keep the essay focused on you, not what you're appreciative of.
