Regardless of the all-women aspect, which school would you guys consider more prestigious and why? Which one offers better undergraduate experience?

williams is ranked higher than wellesley as the #1 liberal arts school.

I think Williams is probably more prestigious--I also think it attracts a different sort of person, though. For instance, I had a friend who was accepted to Williams, thought it would be the perfect school for her, and then went and visited. She came back saying that it was too small, too quiet (she reported that there seemed to be nothing going on on campus), and too secluded. She hadn't applied to Wellesley, and decided to go to Amhearst.

Williams is ranked higher, but the difference between #1 and #4 is negligible. Wellesley's location was a big selling point, if having a large city nearby is important to you.

I got into both Wellesley and Williams and ended up choosing Wellesley. What were the factors in my decision? Williams is in the middle of nowhere, Wellesley on the other hand has the resources of the Boston area and opportunities to network with students at MIT, Babson, Harvard, etc.. Then again, Wellesley is an all-girls school, which is a positive in the fact that the network between Wellesley women is incredibly strong. I'm from N. Florida and honestly, many people (with the exception of New England transplants and businesspeople) haven't heard of either school. Note though, the number of graduates of all-womens' colleges in high-level government and corporate positions. Both are great schools, so don't let the US News report make the decision for you.
