Anyone knows what IGCSE is evaluated into by WES (World Education Services) into US equivalency?
Anyone who might know plz help me
Typically, full icgse =9+10th grades
Many organizations consider the IGCSE (as well as the UK version) equivalent to a high school diploma, including the NCAA (college sports league), the NAIA (another college sports league), and IERF (another credential evaluation agency).
WES themselves published this about UK credentials offered internationally. While the document does not explicitly suggest a US equivalence of the IGCSE, it does state that they recommend college credit for each international AS and A-level result. Since they recommend college credit for anything above the ICGSE, it stands to reason that they consider the ICGSE equivalent to a US high school diploma.
AS and A Levels are post-ICGSE.
IGCSE (as explained in your link actually) prepare for A Levels. Itâs the 14- to 16 curriculum.
Some universities accept applicants with 8-10 C-A* IGCSE grades, but most competitive colleges want to see 4+AS level results + 3 A Levels (4 if one is Higher Math/Pure Math).
What provides credit is NOT IGCSE but IGCE/GCE/ALevels.
I understand that A-levels are two years on top of the GCSE (or IGCSE). Since WES recommends college credit for AS- and A-Levels, doesnât that suggest that they consider the IGCSE equivalent to high school?
FWIW, I know that WES evaluates the 10th grade credential from Germany (âMittlere Reifeâ) to a high school diploma. The additional two years of high school required to enter a university in Germany (âAbiturâ) get evaluated to one year of college credit. That seems strikingly similar to the British system and I would expect the WES evaluations to be similar as well.
To be absolutely clear: I do not know if WES will actually evaluate OPâs IGCSE as equivalent to a high school diploma. I am merely making an educated guess to help ease the OPâs fears until he gets his real evaluation results.
Thank u so much for the reassuring answers @b@r!um. I feel somewhat relieved for now. Thanks for sparing ur time to gather all that information for my sake sir/mam. God bless u.
Hey, JustinPon. The IGCSE is equivalent to the U.S.high school diploma. I am an international student and I did the IGCSE. I got accepted to 4 schools, all with scholarship with only IGCSE and nothing else. Donât worry, IGCSE alone is sufficient to get you into universities in the U.S.
Best of luck!
Thanks so much for confirming @loveforbooks Best of the best of luck for ur future too mate.

Has anyone experienced the disappearance of the estimated completion date? The status is still âevaluation in progressâ and the documents are still marked as âacceptedâ. Any clues pls?
