From what I see, roughly 1k applicants out of 6k are admitted. My question is, what portion/percentage of the incoming class is accepted via ED? I know for Vassar it's something like 50%...

Last year it was 40%. there are intimations that it may be higher this year because the pool was so strong.

ok so pessimistically there’s ~500 spots. How many applicants apply RD? 2-3 thousand?

last year the overall numbers were 2,000 accepted out of 10,000 applicants. 46% of the class last year was selected through ED I + ED II. For a class of 745, that’s about 345, leaving 400 spots for RD.

Wesleyan received about 850 applications for ED I + EDII, so that leaves 9,150 RD apps for 400 spots. However, Wesleyan admits many more than that because not everyone accepted will attend. Out of the 2,000 accepted, only 345 were taken early, meaning 1,655 students were accepted during the RD round, or 18% (1,655/9,150).

see http://www.wesleyan.edu/admission/facts_faces/profile2013.pdf for the numbers

um, try 10,000.
