Does that work?
Congrats to everyone who got in and cheers for those who didnt.
I got to be an alternate for the Asia Freeman Scholarship. I wonder if there has been any precedent in the past in which the winner declined the offer in the end? Cos I’m pretty hyped for Wesleyan
Waitlisted. Honestly, I’m kind of happy about it. I considered Wesleyan a big reach, so I thought I’d get rejected. Congratulations to everyone who got accepted!

Accepted!
Accepted!!! I didn’t send my scores so I was kind of nervous since it’s Wesleyan’s first year doing that but I fell in love with that school the moment I stepped on campus… so pumped!
Rejected, which was expected. It’s okay though! Congrats to everyone who got the news they wanted!!
Waitlisted but that was a surprise to be real. Probably my best option at this point, great school just wasn’t focused on it earlier in the application process. Cared more about UCLA and UNC.
Accepted with a full ride!!! from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe!!!

Serious question: is Wesleyan pronounced like ‘Wezleyan’ or ‘Wessleyan’ ?
Technically correct: ‘Wessleyan’
But I’d say it’s about 50/50 when you hear students on campus actually say the name. Admins/professors are more likely to use the “correct” pronunciation
Wess

Reflection
- Strengths: I am a strong writer who is passionate in my work and have many projects and accomplishments in that field along with honors in my academics. My GPA is strong for an IB student due to the rigour of the classes.
- Weaknesses: My test scores are below Wesleyan’s range.
- Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I honestly do not know. Probably my GPA or how expressive I was in my application.
- Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: (ACCEPTED: Agnes Scott College, Bryn Mawr College, Hollins University, Sweet Briar College) (WAITLISTED: Kenyon College, Mt Holyoke College) (REJECTED: Amherst College, Carleton College, Colorado College, Hamilton College, Oberlin College, Pomona College, Vassar College)
General Comments:
I feel that the strongest part of my application was the application itself as I am not the perfect test score person who pours over test booklets and testing aides. I instead pour my time into discovering new interests and exploring new fields of interest which should be a top priority in the college admissions process; you should do things for your own personal benefit, not because you want to build a perfect resume.
Anyone know how many applied this year and how many got in?
I believe it was around 9 to 10k and around 2k are accepted.
@QueerUniDeer @sukiyama20 That tends to be the accepted student rate, hovering at a low 19% and a high 24% as in last year. It really depends if Wesleyan received more applicants or not, as the yield rate seems to be stable it just vacillates.
9,905 applied and 2,177 were admired for a 21.9% acceptance rate. Lower than last year but not lowest overall. SAT ranged from 690-770 CR, 699-770 M, and 690-780 W. Nice job admitted students! (Got data from students attending WesFest where the Class of 2019 profile was available).
