The last two posters appear to be confusing "Wesleyan College" (a women's college in Georgia) with "Wesleyan University" (a top-rated LAC in Connecticut).

Here's another story that has a quote from Wesleyan's president, saying that they will also decline to furnish the peer assessment, the second prong of the "boycott."

Now that is newsworthy. two thumbs up

My nephew at Wesleyan says he gets "You go to Wesleyan? I thought that was a girls' school".

Oops. mea culpa. Two Trinities, two Cornells, and now two Wesleyan's to keep straight!

Two Wesleyans ? Are you kidding ?

In addition to the generic "Wesleyan College", there's also:

Iowa Wesleyan College

Tennessee Wesleyan College

Kentucky Wesleyan College

Virginia Wesleyan College

West Virginia Wesleyan College

North Carolina Wesleyan College

Roberts Wesleyan College

In addition to the generic "Wesleyan University", there's also:

Ohio Wesleyan University

Illinois Wesleyan University

Dakota Wesleyan University

Nebraska Wesleyan University

Texas Wesleyan University

Southern Wesleyan University

Oklahoma Wesleyan University

Indiana Wesleyan University

And that's just in the US.

Umm... Give it up to the Methodists for founding so many schools!

Corbett, before speaking about the "confusion" of other posters, it may help to read WHAT they post, and the linked information for that matter. Clicking on the link I posted or reading that the school "Chartered as the Georgia Female College on December 23, 1836" is not the CT-based Wesleyan.

The link that you posted was clearly about the Georgia-based Wesleyan. However, this thread was just as clearly started to discuss the Connecticut-based Wesleyan.

At least some of the participants in this thread were in fact confusing the two schools (as acknowledged in post #24 above). So it seemed appropriate to point out the distinction.

What confusion?

There is only one Wesleyan where you can find Me & Bobby Mcgee Eaterie.

Freedom's just another word for nothing left to loose
Nothing, and that's all that Bobby left me, yeah
But feeling good was easy Lord when he sang the blues
Hey feeling good was good enough for me, hmm-mm
Good enough for me and Bobby McGee.

That would be Ohio Wesleyan, right?

Sorry, I was talking about the one in CT.
