Wesleyan University VS. Brandeis University HELP

Hi guys, I am having the hardest time figuring out what college to commit to and there are only four days left!
I am thinking of doing pre-med and maybe business. I'm down to earth, loves sports, not into the alcohol/drug scene, and I'm from NYC so need lots to do.
Wesleyan is more selective than Brandeis, both have amazing sciences.
However, people say Wesleyan is huge on the drug and party scene, the student body consists of pretentious liberal hipsters, and it looks really quiet (suburban). Not sure if I'll fit in.
On the other hand, Brandeis is in Waltham (suburban), close to Boston (similar to NYC) but it is known as a weeder school for premeds?
Any help is appreciated :)

Hi there! I’m not an undergrad (yet) but my dad went to Wesleyan so I’ve been around it a lot throughout my life. I’m highly considering it though with a similar path as yourself (I want to be premed with an econ major)! All I can say is that what draws me to it is the incredible science but also the abundance in research opportunities. Professors are really excited to have undergrads in their labs. Also the business program is phenomenal.

As for social, there is always stuff on campus, like always. And it always ranges! The artsy scene gives rise to so many concerts and performances but also just fun get togethers. I’ve stayed over a few times and the frat scene is there but having a crazy, sober night is absolutely possible and super fun! NYC isn’t too far, pretty sure they do buses/shuttles. Everyone I’ve met has been super nice and really really cool, unreal backgrounds and superb intellect.

I’m biased towards Wes, but really, it’s an awesome school. I’m speaking through indirect experience but my dad absolutely loved it and I’m looking forward to applying. Best of luck, congrats on (at least) two awesome choices!!

@Doodleman and Sparkinme: If you are still following CC threads, may I ask if either of you chose Wesleyan finally, and if so what has been your experience?

To any other Wesleyan current students: Any advice from you on choosing Wesleyan over another school (e.g. Rochester, in my case). I want to purse pre-medical courses. Thank you.
