Besides UCs, Stanford, Cal Polys, and Cal Tech, which universities in the west coast would you recommend to someone interested in engineering? Specifically, I’m interested in mechanical and civil.
The University of Washington seems to be missing from the list.
USC is another not mentioned.
Harvey Mudd College, USC, and Santa Clara U are private schools in California with very selective engineering programs.
Outside of California, U of Washington would be the top public. Oregon State has a large engineering program but is less selective.
It would be hard to make realistic recommendations for you without knowing your basic academic credentials, budget limits, and state of residency.
I’d say just about any ABET-accredited program would be OK. Beyond that, try to find a school that you’re comfortable with. There’s no reason to exclude the CSUs, or schools like Oregon Tech or University of Nevada.
