What are some good engineering schools that on/around the west coast?
What are your stats? What can you afford? Private or Public? What type of Engineering?
I’m looking for a mid-range priced school. Not necessarily the most expensive, but not the cheapest.
You can use the abet site to find schools by program or by state. http://main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx
A dollar amount would be helpful along with your stats. No reason to recommend schools that will not be affordable or not a good chance for an acceptance. What type of Engineering are you interested in studying? Home state?

What does that mean?? How much will your parents pay each year???
You can’t borrow much, so the amount that your parents will pay will largely determine where you should apply.
What kind of engineering?
Price limit?
Financial aid situation?
State of residency?
Besides the most prominent ones (Stanford, Berkeley, etc.), Santa Clara University–in Silicon Valley, so spectacular internship opportunities. Beautiful Mission Revival Style campus, and you can’t beat the weather. San Jose State has engineering and also places a lot of students in Silicon Valley.
University of Washington is terrific, and in Seattle. Make sure to consider whether you apply directly into the engineering program. Sometimes schools will accept a few direct admits and other students have to apply once they are students there, so might not be accepted.
Good luck!
Assuming you have straight As, are taking mostly AP classes, and have a 1550+ on the SAT and 800s on two SAT Subject tests (Math 2 and either Chemistry or Physics), I would say Cal, Caltech, Harvey Mudd and Stanford.
