I am candidate for class of 2014. I was admitted to, but cannot attend SLS (school is still in session for me at that time, so I had to choose between USMA SLS and USAFA SS, and since I live on the East coast my parents decided I should go to Colorado and just visit WP). My question is, which would be a better visitation option: day tour with a cadet before term ends, or a summer debriefing session with admissions?

While there may be some cadets there this summer, it would be much more realistic to see WP while classes are in session. It’s also possible that you could receive an LOA, then you would be allowed to do an overnight visit.

It’s too late for an orientation visit this year as this is the last week of class before term end exams next week.

If you are nearby a summer visit is nice. Post is pretty empty but you might see some New Cadets training. You can take a tour and meet with an admissions officer who can give you a fair assessment of your qualifications.
Then go back - during the school year for a candidate visit. You can wait until after your application is complete and you have a nomination.

thank you for the information

Definately wait for an overnight visit, and act on that. It is the best way for you to get ANY questions you have answered, and you see a day in the life of a plebe.
