I'm a Jewish atheist who is 100% for protesting the eff out of these people. What scum. :(

they protested my kids' city school in NH for having a Gay/Straight Alliance. Weirdos.

they protest anything that isn't radical... the people in that "church" are such hypocrites......

why counterprotest? that legitimizes these fundamentalist retards. let their backwards ignorance speak for itself.

^hmm, that is a good point

Rather than counter protest, might one throw garbage at them instead?

^i would do that

or we could just take their picket signs and beat them upside the heads with them

Michael Moore had an interesting approach a few years back...He rounded up a bunch of gay guys, took them on the "Sodomobile" and danced around the pastor hahahaha.

you can YouTube it.

^that's pretty funny

yeah, let them do their protest.. they're only hurting themselves by making everyone hate them even more

I think a good thing to do would be to simply not take them seriously. e.g. they're gonna hold up signs that say "God Hates Fags." Your side should hold up signs like "God Hates Cigarettes?!?!?"

^ that parody has been done as a web site

A group of kids involved in Harvard's Christian Impact are planning on taking some baked goods and hot chocolate down to their protest site and offering them to the protesters. I think that's a swell idea; reacting in anger is kind of what they want and expect, so to react with kindness would totally take the air out of their balloon.

^ haha yeah. I would attach little verses to the cookies about love and patience, etc.

I hate radicals...

They make decent, moderate people in organizations look like freaks too.

WBC Protest at UChicago - a set on Flickr

haha.

The comment about a "waste of a day" is pretty much on target. These people aren't even legitimate radicals; they're narcissistic losers who are so desperate for others to give them some attention that they say the most outrageous things possible in a pathetic attempt to get us to look at them. Right now, their website thanks God for sending the shooters who killed 10 and 16 innocent people in Alabama and Germany this week, because they claim those places are "fag-infested." Clearly, no sane person really feels that way, but by posting it they have triggered responses - including my post to this thread - which is really what they're after.

Isn't it refreshing, though, to find somebody so offensive that NOBODY defends them?

^ Absolutely

Flickr Photo Download: God Hates Figs (with biblical references!)
The best from the flickr IMO.

Can't wait to see what Harvard comes up with.

^^^ Good heavens, now it all finally makes sense! All this hatefulness is just the result of a tragic typo! :)
