My daughter has been accepted there, we are from CA and she is determined to go out of state. She's into Technical Theatre and English. Would WWU have good program for her? We're going to visit it for the first time in April. She's also waiting to UW in Seattle, but her chances are very slim. She's also been accepted to UC Riverside, where we would like her to go as it seems to be a better known school, but we haven't seen it either. Don't really know what to do, please help if you know anything about those two places.
Thanks

I live in Washington and know that WWU is seen as a fairly good school.
UW is seen as the top and WWU or WSU is the second depending on your taste.
I've known many ppl who apply there as a safety when applying to UW. (including myself)
I think prestige wise its seen as average...but my teachers can't stop raving about it.
Bellingham is supposed to be beautiful, and I've heard the social scene is pretty nice. Some ppl told me much of the student body is hippie-ish.
I've never visited so hopefully after your visit you'll have a better idea of it.

Notwithstanding the ongoing MIS-use of the word 'prestige,' WWU does not have the academic assets and quality of Washington State University.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't an English/Theatre kid be much happier at WWU than WSU?

Our current theatre teacher/auditorium caretaker (we have a huge auditorium, and he oversees everything) graduated from WSU and had a fantastic time performing, directing, and working on the shows there. But WSU has a notorious reputation for being a "party school", and he sort of fits into that stereotype, a little bit.
