The closest grocery stores are Trader Joe’s, Ralph’s and Whole Foods.

@UCLAbound20,
Just curious, how exactly did you come by one?

@Lakers: a friend of mine knows someone that makes em. we all got some and its pretty legit. tested under the blacklight and scanned

Thanks! I definitely won’t be shopping at Whole Foods all too much

I feel both young and old, I’m going into my 4th year and I’m 21 (22 in November) and I’ll be turning 23 by the time I get to UCLA… what’s the minimum age where I’m obligated to scream out the window at other students “Hey you kids get off my lawn!!!?”

No Safeways? I guess Ralphs counts but they generally have good prices. I haven’t done much shopping at Whole Foods… is there a Target anywhere nearby?

two words: diddy riese

westwood sucks. You guys will see. it’s pretty much dead most nights. I mean, people are at the bars and stuff… but there is not much of a scene really. And the food… is eh. Nothing stellar (except I also loooooooove chipotle). The movie theatres also play shytey movies most of the time. sadface

I suppose there are hot girls, but… this is Los Angeles, so, duh. ;)

shudders I got hired and when I…oh gosh, it’s too disgusting.

Well, I know who I’m not going to lunch with! I agree though Westwood is meh. =/

You guys must be coming from stellar cities…

Compared to where I am from, Westwood is freakin’ amazing and I love it. There’s tons of places to eat and hangout. Though, I’m from a suburban area, so, there isn’t **** to do there, and it makes Westwood look like Paradise.

Honestly, I think it’s an awesome place to live and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Yeah, I lived around the Westwood area…I guess at first it’s nice and you want to explore, but then you get used to everything and its meh.

Shopping in BH is veryyy nice though…^-^

I’m in the same boat as you!

i like westwood, too. it’s a cute college-noted little thing next to ucla and i love walking around and just exploring the place. i agree that the food is meh but ucla dorm food might just balance it out.

there is no target nearby. hell, there aren’t much targets or wal-marts in west la, period. there are a couple within reasonable driving distance, but with traffic it can take forever.

has anyone applied for a parking permit?

don’t limit yourself to just westwood

take the big blue bus for free, it’ll take you to lots of places that are perfect in the summer time like santa monica beach/pier, 3rd street promenade, etc

and yeah i applied for parking even though i’m living on campus because i plan on keeping my job which is in the san fernando valley, but i’ll only be working once a month just to say i’m working. i know they say you have to work a minimum of 3 days a week, but if they audit me i’ll just show them a blank voided check with $0.00 which proves i’m working

@Itachirumon The Safeway chain in Los Angeles is known as Vons. I’m not aware of the closest Vons to UCLA though. You may have to go over the hill into the San Fernando Valley or eastward into Hollywood.
