Wharton for social entrepreneurship? (college decision help!)

Hello! As a current senior, I have narrowed my choices down to Penn, Columbia, or Stanford. I realize the quality of academics at any of these institutions will be unparalleled, and I'm incredibly grateful to have these choices to begin with.

Academics aside, my #1 consideration is the availability of opportunities in civic service + entrepreneurship. My passion is social entrepreneurship, specifically in education reform.

At Penn, I will be part of the Civic Scholars Program while enrolled in Wharton. CSSP and PennSEM also sound like great opportunities as well.

If you're a Penn student who has experience (or is familiar) with these programs (or related programs), can you expand on your experiences? What other opportunities exist for social entrepreneurship?

I'd love to hear any first-hand accounts from actual Penn students. Thank you!

Management 100.

Just out of curiosity, are you british ?? (just wondering cause ‘fit chicks’ seems like a very british thing to say.

Anyways, yeah course, Wharton is amazing for social entrepreneurship. Look up Warby parker and givology.

I’m updating this thread to announce that, unfortunately, I will not be joining the Wharton Class of 2016 this fall…though I am certain that Wharton would prove an equally excellent choice.

The college application marathon has been a tiring but rewarding journey, and for future applicants who are looking into social entrepreneurship, please feel free to PM me with questions - I’d love to help.

kafka - You have a keen eye  I’m British by birth but attended an international school in Australia.
