Wharton internal transfer

Hey guys. I am a freshman, And I am thinking about transferring to Wharton. How hard is it to get into Wharton? I know about the essay, required courses and etc, but in general is it really thaaat competitive? And will I be left behind if get in there my second year. How rigorous and challenging is the material compared to College’s social science classes?

@penguiny The general consensus is that wharton classes are not that hard. The economics classes in CAS are def harder. It is competitive to transfer in, but if you have a 3.5 or above AND you can show why you are interested in business, you stand a decent chance. Also Wharton has fewer requirements than the college or engineering, so you will not be left behind transferring in during your second year. Just go for it, and if it doesn’t happen , don’t fret about it, it is not gonna make an actual difference in your undergraduate career at Penn and the opportunities you have.

@penguiny You need a 3.4 to be considered and a bit higher than that to have a decent chance. It is quite competitive. I know a few people who got in with around a 3.5+. If you have a a 3.4 or above just go ahead and apply and see what happens. However, do not stress out too much about it. If you don’t get in, it is not gonna really make a difference in the opportunities you have at Penn or after. I am assuming you are studying Econ in the College, so you will have many available credits that you can fulfill with Wharton classes in your area of interest. Plus econ majors do very well for business recruiting. Good luck with the application.

Hey, guys. I am a freshman in the College. I really truly want to transfer to Wharton, but i think i am going to have low GPA. Does GPA really matter that much? Do you know if any people with low GPAs got accepted into Wharton with internal transfer? If so, what was it? And how hard is it to transfer internally?
