Wharton Penn or UChicago for ED next year?

I’m currently a HS junior. These two schools are probably my top 2 choices for next year. I really like the urban settings of both and the no nonsense approach towards academics and professional development at these 2 universities.

Can anybody chime in on what would make one a better fit over the other? I’d like to work in data science/AI or quantitative finance (i.e. hedge fund, trading) upon graduation. I’m also open to the idea of getting a PhD in Finance or Economics.

Watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvxp2FcvApQ and let us know your thoughts. It looks like you are pre-professional … UPenn is famous for its pre-professional vibe.

I watched the video and its a good overview of the core but the conclusions drawn from the that are WAY TOO generalized, The idea that UChicago isn’t good for pre professional or getting a job when if fact nearly half the graduated go on to work in Wall street type positions makes the conclusions in this video from a “second year” not really relevant.

If you go onto You Tube and watch the Big Question series for the top colleges you can actually get a feel for what they are like, just don’t draw any conclusions and take them for they are worth.

With Wharton being a b-school and UChicago being a liberal arts school there will be important differences in the coursework you take. I suggest that you spend time looking at the curriculum for both schools (can be found online) to see what you prefer. One path is not better than the other but there are differences.
