Wharton School ( Undergraduate )

Pakistani. 8As in O levels. Sciences, Maths and World History in A levels. Mid year report 4As and 1 A. Will be attending an international MUN in turkey( Only 9 children out of a potential 40 candidates have been selected). Head of the structure department in the ARSSDC competition. Our school qualified as First Runner Ups. Commonwealth Essay Competition - Silver Award. Will be participating this year as well. Part of the publications team at our school’s flagship event. Will be in the core management next year. Interned at an orphanage in the summers. Will be looking for a business oriented internship this year. I have a strong chance of being in the study council. Will be giving SAT 1 in May and SAT 2 in October. Teacher recommendations will be good. What else do I need to stand a chance at gaining admission? Also i will be applying as an Early Decision candidate.

Guys please reply!!

OK…ill reply. Don’t apply early decision if you have significant financial constraints…and apparently you do.

And without a SAT score it is impossible to chance you. Even WITH that, your chances are the same as anyone else’s applying to Penn…90% of applicants are rejected.

I have a fairly good chance of getting 1500+ on SAT 1 ( the new format is out of 1600 ) and in SAT 2 , 2300 +. Wouldn’t applying RD reduce my chances even more?

You can not assume any SAT score until you actually take it.

@ArsenalLover123 This isn’t the 1980’s. Wharton has lots of competition. In the only ranking of business schools that matters it is #7. In the end you might like others better.

@uclaparent9 i’m surmising on the basis of the diagnostic tests that I have taken.
@TurnerT could you give me the link for this ranking ?

If you get 1500 you might have a 2-3% chance at Wharton.

If you get a 1450 you might have a 1% chance.

@ClarinetDad16 Thank you for the reply. Could you tell me what I can do to improve my chances?

Build a list of schools where you have a 50% chance of admissions.

How many kids from Pakistan does Penn take each year? (And how many Wharton)

Being at the bottom of the class somewhere is a recipe for failure.

@ClarinetDad16 Could you suggest such schools?
Penn and all other competitive schools take 3-4 Pakistanis each year ( Yes the competition is sky high but sky’s the limit, no ? ) I’ve always topped my class .Worst case scenario : I came second. Hopefully this will continue. So you think these EC’s are fine ? Thank you.

I understand why you want Wharton. Why should Wharton want you?
