Wharton sports initiative

ok so im applying to wharton ED and i was doing research for my essay and came across the wharton sports initiative. Does anyone have anymore info on this? I’m really looking for current student feedback if possible. Also, does anyone think it is a good idea to play my insatiable love for sports (i dare anyone to find a more rabid sports fan and font of sports knowledge) and my desire to be in sports management or something similar to that? Does UPENN like it when we really, really play up the main interest in our lives even though its not ,to say the least, entirely academic? Thanks for any feedback.

I think that would be a good essay topic simply because it's so weird I doubt anyone's done it before.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that its never been done before, but it can be quite the unique essay. I've come to understand that colleges want the essays that most accurately match your character. While sports might not be the best vehicle for portraying your character, you seem like (must be if your applying to Wharton) a smart enough person to write an essay that will tie your passion for sports, academic interests, career goals, and overall character together in a mannor which will benefit you. Dont buy into the stereotype that an essay focusing on sports can't be as powerful as an essay on something like the theory of relativity or beethoven.
