Wharton: Teacher Recommendations

Hello everyone,

I am planning to apply ED to Wharton (maybe LSM or Huntsman). My teachers (Math and English) have asked me to fill out forms so they can better write recommendation letters. One has asked for a letter in which I highlight my strengths, weakness, learning style, and what I have done to overcome my weaknesses. The other is asking for three adjectives that describe me and why. I assume this information will be used in their recommendation letters, so I would like to have them incorporate information that Wharton would see as favorable in an applicant. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

The truth is usually a good start.

You need to think about who you really are instead of having others tell you what would be good traits to have for the schools.Just tell the truth like the guy said above.

Like others are saying, we really can’t help you with this since we don’t know you. Your teachers are asking pretty personal things, and only you can answer them. All I can say is be honest and genuine (your teachers will appreciate that!).

Thanks for the responses. I am not looking to deceive anyone here, and I am sure my teachers will certainly have words in mind to use anyway, but I know that the presentation of an applicant is what can make or break admission, so I am just seeking any strong words or language that would catch the eyes of someone on the Admissions Committee. Thanks again.

  1. your teachers are probably very used to writing LORs

  2. http://mitadmissions.org/apply/prepare/writingrecs This is a good guide for what top schools want. You don’t need anything Penn-specific. The same LORs will be used for all your schools anyways. Colleges know that. Stop worrying about Wharton per se.
