Wharton Transfer Chances/advice

I'm currently a freshman at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and I'm looking to transfer to Wharton. I know it's early, but I'd like to get some idea of where I stand or what I can do to improve my chances because I'm beginning to plan my second semester and Wharton requires certain math courses.

Wharton was my first choice and I was waitlisted when I originally applied.

Obviously, GPA can be unpredictable, especially with finals and final papers, but if the semester ended today my GPA would be 3.9.

SAT I: 740 V, 800 M, 730 W

College ECs: Financial Management Association, Georgetown University Student Investment Fund

If more information is needed to accurately assess my chances, I can definitely provide it, I just don't want to overwhelm with unnecessary info. I'd greatly appreciate any evalation and/or advice.

i think you stand a pretty good chance...did you finish all the prereqs?

hey i applied to wharton earlier and didnt get in eventually...but anyways..of all the applicants that applied to wharton in the previous years who didnt get in, 1% reapplied, and of that 1% who reapplied only 1% got in. So basically if 1000 people didnt get in last year, 100 applied again this year, and of them 1 person got in

i finished all the prereqs except a second semester of calculus

would recommendations from accounting and economic professors be redundant?

anyone else??...are there any statistics out there i could look at?

get a rec from a professor who taught at upenn prior to teaching at georgetown

hey, weird that I stumbled about this post. I transferred into Wharton two years ago as a sophomore (I'm now a senior). I had stats quite similar to yours. Similar SATs, grades, quality of school. That said, I know of someone who tried to transfer from my school with similar stats, but didn't get in. So, I'd say you have a great shot if you keep up the grades, write interesting essays that make them believe that you are and will be the ****. And get some professors to call you a genius. I know some georgetown kids that transferred to Penn, so it's certainly possible. Good luck!
