i have heard that wharton is very very competitive and i have also heard that grades are inflated heavily at harvard

how do they compare in terms of difficulty (i want to do something business related after undergrad)

i have heard that wharton is very very competitive and i have also heard that grades are inflated heavily at harvard

how do they compare in terms of difficulty (i want to do something business related after undergrad)

They're about comparable, both extremely competitive and it is rare you'll even have to make this decision. But if you do, just figure out what you'd rather study: econ or business (finance, accounting, marketing, etc etc). You'll do better in whatever you're more interested in.

if you want to do business......i know that basically all wharton students get internships and jobs because of on campus recruiting

if at harvard as an econ major.....will "on campus recruiting" or something equivalent exist......is it easy to get internships etc.

harvard econ majors basically have the same opportunities available to them as wharton students.

i think it's all personal preference in the end. both are TOP programs and amazing schools. you should also visit both campuses; they are extremely different from each other.

i have visited penn but have not visited harvard yet......

what would u consider the major differences???

i have heard that wharton is cutthroat competitive while harvard has huge grade inflation

Exactly right - everybody gets 4.0 at Harvard!

wharton definitely is cutthroat, as is all top ug business programs.

is knicks10 a troll?

does harvard econ have recruiting?!?!?! no they all end up flipping burgers

use your brain.

people on this board have the SAT and GPA to get into ivys but not the common sense to realize stuff like this ?

Knicks10, if you are asking those kinds of questions you don't belong here at Wharton or at Harvard.

as a sophomore at wharton, i undestand why the world thinks that wharton is so "cutthroat" and "super competitive". but on a day to day basis, its not as bad as everyone thinks! most wharton students i know are nice, easygoing, and willing to study in groups/work on group projects.

vballgrl - is it very difficult to keep a high gpa?

what do u think the average gpa of a wharton student is?

the average should be around 3.3.

Sounds about right. Most programs (top or not, in fact) will have averages around there.

of course its difficult to keep a super high gpa, but im sure thats the case with all top schools. i always try to take an arts and science class a semester to improve my gpa.. myself and other normal people that i know have gpas of 3.5+ while still going out at night and having fun.
