It's not uncommon for Ivies, or any undergraduate institutions, to discourage their students to apply for the grad programs. My sister at Yale was told she shouldn't apply to Yale again because different institutions have different educational philosophies and it's best to spread out and diversify your knowledge.

With that said, the Ivy-League is like one giant incest pool anyway. Go on any of the Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Penn, Cornell (Dartmouth, Brown, Princeton lack any notable grad programs*) grad program facebook groups and you'll see more Ivy league alumni than anywhere else even though the Ivies only represent 8 schools.

Having talked to many Bankers on wall-street, an MBA first of all is a JOKE degree. That's not to say it's not useful. But its value has nothing to do with the education you receive. Rather, it has to do with the networking you are able to make. Therefore, it's a REALLY bad idea (in 99% of cases) to go straight from Undergrad -> MBA program because no one will hire a 23 year old as an Associate at a BBfirm anyway without prior work experience.
