Anyone applying to the Roy Vagelos Program?

Or is it only me? Just wondering, 'cause I’ve really heard no mention of it on these boards, or anywhere.

A couple of people from my school applied early; both got in.

I'm applying. Go us.

I think there was an EDer or two who did. :)

it's as tough as wharton to get accepted, maybe harder? my recollection is off, but it's basically chem kicking your ass over and over

Heh, yeah, that basically sums it up. Well, no reason not to try. Worst case scenario is that I end up in Wharton :)

Assuming I get into that...

Very intense program.

it seems like the perfect mix of business and medicine. i really want to go there. it's new, no?

why, if we apply to the special programs and we don't get in, will we have a higher chance at the individual schools? Say i apply to Roy prog and dun get in but i checked Wharton box..do i have a higher chance than the ppl who didn't apply for the Roy prog?

word of advice to anyone applying: the program is very intense...i know someone in the program who's doing the entire first semester over because of low grades, and everyone else i know in the program is dropping out of it before next semester

but supposedly, if you can make it through sophomore year, it gets easier :)

ahhh, snap

i would love to be part of that intensity. for those four (or five..) years, if you work like no one's worked before, you'll live like no one's lived before. :) That's my outlook.

I know a guy who's in the Vag - that's my term, I'm trying to spread it - it seems intense but worthwhile.
