So I don’t want to be caught in the “shopping period” for freshmen and other students (but especially freshmen). This is why I have started this thread for advice. I am going to be taking mostly intro courses and some advanced ones but definitely these subjects freshmen year.

Calculus
Physics
English/Creative Writing
Maybe Biology or Chemistry

I want to know the best, and/or easiest teachers/sections for these classes so I can register early and avoid disappointment. Any recommendations for easy classes to balance some hard ones would also be GREAT! Thank you for all of your advice.

Brown's Critical Review is a student-run publication and website that posts reviews of teachers and classes. It can be found online here:
Critical Review

"Mocha" is a student-created database of current classes (fall 08 isn't up yet) and can be found at mocha.cs.brown.edu

These sites should help you out, but you've got a lot of time before you need to think about classes. Besides, shopping period is fun!

As far as your chosen classes go, introductory Biology is offered spring semester only, introductory Chemistry fall semester only (unless you have very little chem background, in which case there's a prep course in Spring, or you can do it online the summer before you come- you'll get an email, it's called Chem 10).
The calc teachers change pretty often, and I don't know what level you'll come in on, so I can't help you there.
Physics-Mechanics is offered in the fall and electricity and magnetism in the spring. I think you have to take them in that order.

Depending on your strengths, your proposed schedule might be really easy or really difficult- it's hard to say.
