What is the typical age to start law school?
AND when do you start practicing for the LSAT?
I'm 12.

You have to wait until you are at least 13.

Law school is something you do after college. Many do not even start law school until after they have worked two to three years after college. A number don’t even begin before 30. So you are likely looking at starting sometime in your 20s with 22 about the youngest age. The LSAT is a test that you should plan to take once and do well. Most who will apply to law school beginning right after college take it just after junior year or fall of senior year in college and prep, which often includes a prep course, begins about 3 to 4 months before the exam.

There was a girl on the news here starting law school at 16. I don’t know if there’s a requirement in different states to practice law beyond a certain age, but in WA State this prodigious girl will be practicing at 19, God willing.

XaviFm: That’s incredible.

So what is a good age?
Do people normally start at 22? or 23?

I couldn’t find the one about where she’s going to law school now. But she graduated a year ago. They said on the news where she was going. But I forget.

Matisyahu:

As a dad, and a lawyer, my advice is that you that you are getting way ahead of yourself, with respect to your thinking about law school.

You are only 12 years old.

Just worry about doing well in school, but also try and have some fun.

These should be the best years of your life.

It is too soon for you to worry about such things.

Thanks but what age do normal people get started?

@Matisyahu: 22-27 is the most common range I have noticed in my law school research of class profiles.
