I’m a math guy who loves to code computer programming too. I am good at math and I’m sure I can deal with anything that involves heavy math. However, I want to have a really well-paid job in the future. So I have some layers of questions in my head now. First, should I continue to pursue in purely math/com-sci or should I do quantitative engineering or financial engineering? Second, if the later works, should I study in Princeton’s ORFE or MIT’s course 15 and MIT Sloan. I am taking economics class and the math part seems interesting for me so far, but I’m not sure I will really like economic/finance field or not.
I’d say Business Analytics at MIT since it involves math(mostly statistics) and programming and is a very hot new career field.
In addition to @nw2this 's good recommendation, I’ll add that applied math at either of those schools will render you eminently employable with excellent career prospects. Best of luck!
I would say MIT math for sure !!! I would also say financial engineering since the nature of study targets more to the job market. Take advantage of your genius math skills !!!
