I want to apply for Cornell in food science major. What AP subjects should I take in 11th grade?
AP Chem
Organic
AP bio
But I already took normal Biology last year in Grade 10.
Should I take one more AP Bio?
For food science you’ll need AP bio and AP Chem for sure. Cornell is serious stuff. Your classmates will haven taken them. In fact, many will have passed their subject tests and AP tests but still may retake them at Cornell. For good grades or because the advisors may encourage it. Give yourself the upper hand as much as possible. Call the food science dept and ask. Check out the major online and see what the requirements are. Then you can decide… And apply to Cornell…
My good friend is a freshman in Cornell’s Food science program. Her school didn’t offer AP chem. She is plenty worried. Definitely take AP bio even if you took regular bio.
Should I take AP physic or not?
Fortunately, Cornell has already done the work for you. ![]()

I’d suggest some type of physics, but AP is not necessary.
No you don’t. Although taking one or both may be helpful. However, I would not take them both in the same year.
