Ugly girls? Are you serious? I don't see how thats possible with so many students...

Spare me. The ugly girl thing is sooo cliche. What about all the freak and geek guys? Plenty of those littering the campus. It's a big place. Both genders have all types represented, including the attractive variety.

yea actually I heard that there are ugly guys and good looking girls...but I'm sure everyone could find someone that theyre attracted too in such a big school. plus, at the football games, the girls always look pretty normal...except for the fact that they look like b****s

These girls look pretty good.

5 Good Things: 5 Bad Things

Cold Snowy Weather : Cold Snowy Weather
Big 10 : Big 10
State School : State School
Ann Arbor : Ann Arbor
Zingerman's Delicatessen : Zingerman's Delicatessen

good point. you're a clever one, hazmat :)

Actually, many years ago the United States Census Bureau - in an effort to understand the concentration of ugliness in our nation - employed a study to evaluate which college had the highest concentration of ugly girls. Michigan was found by far to contain the most number of ugly girls.

Now before you guys get angry and state that this was politicized, etc. - let me tell you that a bi-partisan commission found NO, and I repeat NO improprieties in the compilation of this report.

Furthermore, Government Accounting Office (GAO) estimates predict that nearly 95% of the female population at Michigan will be classified as Uggly-15 (Highest government classification of Ugliness) by the year 2015.

The Commerce Department has predicted that donut shops, ice cream shops, and fast food restaurants should grow exponentially over this time period. Gyms, however will be on the decline.

As a result, Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley have recently upgraded all plus size retail outlets to strong buys in the Ann Arbor area.

look around on facebook for a while, theres plenty of hotties here

Good
1. Best-overall undergraduate university in the world - with top ten departments in almost every field
2. Huge diversity of people
3. Ann Arbor has a great atmosphere, feels safe, and is full of friendly people

Bad
1. Expensive for out-of-staters (although comparable price to Ivies)
2. Can be pretty cold (if you're from California or whatnot, get ready to see snow)
3. Very little grade inflation (not necessarily a bad thing as employers recognize how strong Michigan academics are, but for the vast majority of students say goodbye to getting a 4.0 GPA).

At best, this thread has become totally useless and, at worst, incredibly offensive. And VirginiaAlum..you actually spent time researching this shallow topic and then proceeded to babble on (and on...) about some ridiculous stats you dug up??? OMG, so pathetic that it's laughable!

lol, people seriously, take a joke. its actually a joke here on campus as well.

Of course there are going to be attractive people on a huge campus like U-M. But you'll hear both sides complain about the lack thereof

well, i'm azn and i don't think the azn girls are that bad at all. In fact, it's overwhelming how pretty they are. Even my orgo exam proctor was looking pretty nice so it was hard to concentrate on the test.

First time I've ever heard of that happening.

LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, wow that's classic, can't beat the hot prof's lol

I think hazmat is onto something--a lot of the pluses can also be minuses. For example:

Michigan is public. That means, on the good side, it gets public funds, has a public service mission, etc. It also means, on the bad side, it can't be selective as it might otherwise be and has tuition restraint (formal and informal) imposed upon it, which limits its overall funding. especially since the State keeps cutting and cutting.

Michigan is really decentralized. That means, on the good side, that schools and colleges have a lot of freedom to pursue excellence in their own way and the college is a very diverse place (I don't mean ethnicity). Students can also use this to their advantage, in that if you don't like the answer you get one place you can usually get a completely different one somewhere else. However, on the bad side, it means the red tape and confusion can be pretty severe if you have a problem that needs solving, and all too often you'll find that you can't just notify one office of something--it doesn't get passed along!

I'm too lazy to come up with 5 examples.
