I am applying to 3 second tier boarding schools that have an acceptance rate of about 50%. These are my stats:
SSAT:
Reading 67 percentile
Math 99 percentile
Verbal 92 percentile
Interview:
I did pretty well except for one because I did not prepare
Essays:
I spent a great time on them to make sure they seemed advanced.
Applying for financial aid
My EC:
I do many academic competitions and have made it to state
Avid participator in swim and tennis
If you implied at any point in the process that the school was second tier, I’d peg your chances as 0. Otherwise, too little information has been provided to guess.
What was your overall SSAT score percentage ?
Are you comfortable sharing the names of the schools to which you applied ?
What types of extracurricular activities ? Any sports ?
My overall was about a 92/93. I am a pretty wellrounded student, I participate in swimming, dance, tennis and have gone to states for swim. The schools I applied to were Western Reserve Academy, Mercersburg Academy, and Shady Side Academy. Acceptance are moderately competitive, but I’m afraid my chances are low because I’m applying for FA.
@Publisher Did you really need to ask OP what schools she applied to, given the sensitivity as pointed out by @skieurope above? This OP is now easily identifiable. I hope the OP is truly comfortable, upon reflection, with the info being published in post#4, and if not, perhaps the OP would like it removed for anonymity’s sake.

You should be admitted to Western Reserve & to Mercersburg with sufficient financial aid. Shady Side has a very small boarding population.

^^^Agree, you’ll get in somewhere. Remember it’s not the name of the school that makes the student, it’s the other way around. You (and a little luck) determine your own success. Good Luck!
