What are my chances & Advice Needed!

Hello Everyone!

I’ve checked many BSMD threads and realized it’s very competitive! I really want to be accepted into BSMD programs but my stats are not as strong as others and I will be competing against people with perfect stats. It doesn’t help that I’m Indian (born and raised in America Illinois) I need a lot of advice, such as what EC’s I should do for the upcoming 3 years and I’ll need advice, in general, to raise my chances to get accepted in a BSMD program!

Here are my stats:

May I please have some advice on what to do to get accepted by a BSMD program? I know it’s early but I don’t want to wait and do something that can mess up my chances! I know it’s very hard to get accepted but I’m really pushing myself to have the best possible chances! Thank you very much, this means a lot to me and I’m looking forward to hearing your guys responses!!

Its a little early for anyone to chance you for a BSMD program right now but here are my thoughts. When it comes to ECs you’re really going to want to have strong ones that connect to the medical field. BSMD programs are for individuals who want to commit to the medical field, so you have to show a level of interest in the field that you may not have to for other majors. While I do think that your ECs are good right now, you might want to pursue shadowing actively. Another suggestion that I have is volunteering as an EMT. In my state, high schoolers can become EMTs and volunteer as well. This might be a bigger time commitment (I also don’t know if your state has it) but it can definitely help you stand out. I really have no suggestions when it comes to academics, because it’s too early. Keep up the good work though and good luck!

bump!
