I applied early actioon to Ohio State and many of my friends did also. On Friday many of them received a response but my account still says “evaluating”? I have a 3.65 GPA with a 27 ACT. I also have 4 AP’s and the rest honors with a whole lot of extracurriculars. Will I get into the Exploratory Studies program???
Ohio State releases admissions decisions every Friday at 3:00 pm est so check in then.
As for your chances your ACT is in the 25th Percentile and your gpa is pretty good so I’d say that you have a pretty good but not a guaranteed chance of getting in depending on whether you’re out of state or in state
@leicisbest Last year decisions were released in batches every two weeks, sometimes 3 weeks. Not every week. This continued into March or April. Although decisions usually were made (on the student portal) mostly on Fridays, they weren’t always. My guess is that the next release of decisions will be on Friday December 4.
Do you think I have a good shot of getting in? I’m in-state as well.
I suggest you read through last year’s EA decisions thread. Find students with the same or similar stats as yours & just check what their results were. That’s probably about as close as your going to get to a reasonable guess at your own personal chances.

I don’t know. I think it can go either way. You can get a better idea using your school’s Naviance to see how you fare compared to other applicants from your high school who have applied in past years. OSU has a holistic admissions, taking into account everthing thing in your application. So in addition to your standardized test score (which is at the cusp of the bottom 25% of accepted applicants) and how well you did grade-wise in the 5 major academic subject areas, the Admissions officers will look at the strength of your Common application essay, ECs (which you have a lot of), work experience, if any, and possibly also your guidance counselor or teacher recommendation. I think it would also help your case if you had submitted the supplemental Scholars program application, because that shows more effort and interest on your part in taking advantage of what OSU has to offer, and provides more evidence of “fit”, which the more selective colleges like Ohio State look for. The Honors and Scholars programs at OSU provide excellent opportunities for students to explore their interests and academic potential through learning communities and fulfillment of GOALS–global awareness, original inquiry, academic enrichment, leadership and service.
