What are my chances as a junior in HS?

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to look at this thread. I am a junior in high school, and I was wondering what my chances in respective schools would be with my high school "resume" (below). Please take a look at my colleges in the "high" category.

I am considering the following schools for college in the MEDICAL fields, however, if my scores are too low, then I am considering double majoring in both music and medical fields. The colleges in caps are those I am considering for a double major.

Err maybe I’m missing something but you might want to check out the SAT and GPA averages before you set your expectations. From what I see you are statistically nowhere near the caliber of Harvard, Uchicago, Yale, etc expect. Maybe I overlooked an olympics medal or something in the 20 seconds I read this but from what I see you have almost no chance unless you have an AMAZING essay or some crazy connections.

Your honors/awards won’t count for too much, you don’t have any testing stats yet…so don’t get too caught up in the ivies, look at some matches, reaches, and safeties. But your achievements in piano and music are great. Maybe join more competitions and get leadership in clubs involving music between your junior and senior year. That will improve your app!

The way an admissions officer would read your file is a downward trend, a sharp downward trend. A PSAT of 186 might have been good for sophomore year in your state but nationwide anything less than 215 is not special. Pull your grades up quickly or you will be looking at Kansas and not their honor program

I agree with W, the first thing I noticed was a disturbing downward trend. No leadership, no community service, and your scores are not very good. A 186 PSAT gets you nothing. Sorry, you need to research your stats for schools, because you are below what you need. : (

I understand, I do have community service and leadership, I just forgot to put it in. 54 hours of community service, and I was in leadership for 2 years in band.

Thanks for your response, yeah I got a 234 on the 11th grade Merit test if that means anything.

That’s true, I should’ve probably considered that. Thanks.
