what are my chances as a transfer student at pomona?

<p>hi, i'm new here and haven't gotten the hang of all the terminology yet, but i'll do my best. i'm a current cornell student applying to transfer to pomona college in claremont, ca. if anyone would be willing to read over my stats and let me know what you think might be my chances at pomona, i'd really appreciate it. thanks!</p>

<p>high school gpa: 4.45/5.00 (weighted)
cornell gpa: 4.016/4.00 (unweighted)</p>

<p>sat I m 670 v 740
sat II u.s. history 770 math 700 writing 780</p>

<p>ap m.e.h. 5 u.s. history 5 english lit 5 bio 4
also took ap spanish and ap stats (3 on both)</p>

<p>extracurriculars:
-internship for large well-known magazine (college)
-research assistant for 4 different cornell professors (all of whom are writing recs for me)
-writer for cornell daily sun
-organizer at move-on.org (college)
-worked on voter registration drives (college)
-published poetry and essays in several different magazines, e-zines, anthologies, and poetry collections (high school and college)
-columnist for 1 newspaper and 1 e-zine (high school)
-reporter for local newspaper (high school)
-editor-in-chief of high school newspaper
-varsity soccer and cross-country, captain for cross-country (high school)
-founder and president of political club (high school)
-writing center tutor (high school)
-started successful pet-sitting business (high school)</p>

<p>awards: a lot of writing, journalism, leadership, and scholarship/academic awards and honors in both high school and college.</p>

<p>Of course you know Pomona is a VERY selective school, but your stats are great and your ECs are very impressive; hopefully they see that you’ve really put in your dues at Cornell. Especially since you come from Cornell, I think you’re a good match for them!</p>
