What are my chances at an Ivy league school?

Hi, I'm going to be a senior this september and after reading so many threads about kids asking for people to "chance" them, I decided to start my own..
My sister got into Columbia University four years ago-and I come from 100% Indian blood-so naturally the pressure is ON. My parents really expect similar things out of me and I would like to know whether I can meet these expectations or what I need to do in order to meet them. Pressure isn't the only thing obviously, I'm an extremely sincere kid and I want to achieve success through education. After visiting them all, the Ivy leagues have inspired me to perform and work hard. After visiting and speaking to numerous faculty/alumni I feel like these schools would fit my personality due to their traditions and curricula.

GPA-97.15/100 (weighted) my school doesn't rank
(there is a huuuuge leap/progression in my grades from 9th-11th grade, i've heard that improvement is good)

SAT-I: only took it once so far, planning to retake in October
2170

SAT II:
Biology(9th grade)-750
Physics(11th)-800
Math level 2C(11th)-800
US history(11th)-750

AP scores-
World his.-5
US his.-5
Physics B-5
English Language-4

Never been in a regular/non-honors or non-AP class. Took the most difficult schedule offered.

Senior Sched.
AP Calc BC
AP Stat
AP Physics C
AP Biology
AP Literature
AP US Government
AP Micro Economics
Orchestra

EC's

I've been selected for Columbia's Science Honors Program (SHP). A very prestigious and selective program for high school students where there is a unique admission test.

DECA- I've come in the top ten at the state competition two years in a row.
I'm our chapters Secretary.

Forensics- Extemporaneous Speech, while i've been dedicated and sincere in my forensics career.. I'm no good. Qualified for states my junior year and that's it.

Mathletes- I've been a top ten performer for the last three years in this club. I was selected to be a part of our NMT due to performance in regional competitions.

Orchestra- First chair viola. Completed all six levels of Nyssma for both violin and viola with grades of 93 or above.

RESEARCH- I really want to emphasize this-I DO LOTS OF RESEARCH. I'll talk all about it in supplemental apps etc.
-2 years of laboratory experience at Adelphi University under the mentorship of two different professors in microbiology and cellular biology.
-1 year research internship at Columbia University (Pupin physics hall) under Dr. Szabolcs Marka. Our project received 1 million dollars in funding from Bill Gates! Getting a recommendation from this Columbia professor who I've known for a while now.
-Did another project over the summer with a Columbia grad student in biostatistics and epidemiology. Used partial differential equations to create new disease transmission models.

3rd in school science fair twice
Long Island Science and Engineering Fair
Junior Science and Humanitarian Symposium
4th place at Invitational Research Association
Siemens Competition (don't know how I'll do yet)
Intel STS participant (again, don't know how I'll do)
Long Island Outstanding Junior Scientist Award

Volunteer- -100 hours of medical service in B.R. Singh hospital in India
I watched live surgeries.. haha very legal there.
-200 hours of charity work for GUYANA Watch Inc. A non-profit organization that brings a medical brigade in South America for medical outreach. life changing experience.
-50 hours of volunteer in work in the nearest LIJ hospital.

Please Chance me! Any sort of critique is welcomed ahaha. I'd like to go to an Ivy league school, not just because of the name but because I'd fit right in. The student bodies there are extremely diverse and interesting. I'd like to study some branch in engineering-most likely bioengineering. I've heard Cornell is the best for this but the others are obviously top notch as well.. Anyways thanks so much for taking the time to read this!

You obviously have a great shot but all the Ivys are such a crap shoot. They select and deny kids with similar stats all the time. I’d say at this point just get your SATs up another 100 points, write killer essays that make you stand out, and do well your senior year. I’m sure you’ll get into at least a couple top schools.

I think you stand about as good of a chance as possible at any institution. Harvard, Yale, and Princeton are all reasons, but the reason is because they are reaches for everybody.

Your SAT score actually isn’t bad. Assuming that the three subsections are about even, you fall into the median 25-75% of applicants at even the most selective Ivy Leagues. In terms of Extracurricular activities, you are absolutely right to stress the research. That is your strongest point in Extracurriculars. Though you don’t have a ton of leadership elsewhere, I think that will at least somewhat stand out. Furthermore, your GPA/course rigor looks good.

If you have the time, please chance me back at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1368810-chanes-hys-among-others-thanks.html</a> (sorry for the typo). Thanks and good luck! :)

If you are Sioux or Kiowa your chances are excellent

Thanks for the replies guys. How about my chances at Columbia University? My sister went there so I have sibling alumni legacy, I got into Columbia SHP which is an extremely selective program there, and I’ve done research there for a year and a half under a very prestigious professor who is writing one of my recommendations.

bump bump bump…

Ivy schools are always random, but I believe you have a great shot. Amazing ECs! You have a better shot at Columbia in my opinion because of SHP. You’re SAT is good enough for an ivy but I would still advise you to push 2200+ just to be on the safe side.

Wow, I’m just really impressed by your ECs. I feel like those are GREAT hooks :)

I’d apply to all Ivy schools, you’re bound to be accepted by at least one of them. It always seems random with their selections, but you have a great chance at any of the schools

[Chance back?](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1369973-chance-me-san-diego-state-univ.html)

I wanna double major at Cornell or Columbia in Biology and Physics now, anyone think I can get in?

I would apply early decision to either of them. Whichever I have a better chance at.

you definitely have a good shot, relatives will definitely give you legacy and the fact that you did a program at colombia will both work to your advantage, but ivies are unpredictable.

CHANCE ME BACK PLEASE!!! I COULD REALLY USE FEEDBACK
