What are my chances at... any Ivy League?

I'm a student from Canada taking IB, currently in Grade 11. I hope to apply to an Ivy League school, but I don't really know what my chances are, I hope you guys can give me a an idea...

A's throughout all of my Grade 9 courses

A - 86-100

Grade 10 Final Scores

International Studies IB - 97
Mathematics 11 Honours - 92
English IB - 88
Science - 97
IB French SL 11 - 91

Accounting 11 -96

Grade 11 after two terms

Predicted IB Score - 43/45

EC's

I have a lot... I guess, not as many as some of the people I see on the forum, but my EC's are pretty intense... like I see some people with a lot of music stuff... I'm taking Royal Conservatory of Music ARCT and that takes a lot of time out so I don't really know...

Captain of Ultimate Frisbee Team
Head of World Vision
Member of Model UN
Member of Provincial Table Tennis Team
Community Volunteering (a lot... like a LOT)
And some other random activities

I won gold at the national science fair last year, competing at national science fair again this year (it's relatively difficult to actually get INTO this science fair, at least from my region), and probably will go to Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) next May... and like, a couple awards for some random mathematics competitions

There's like this section for some national awards or something on the Common Application... like Cum Laude... do they take into consideration that me being in Canada, I've never even HEARD of things like Cum Laude's Society, or things like National Merit don't even exist? Like the awards I've even heard of in Canada are like... science fair... geography competition, music, and athletics, oh and some math competitions like the AMC!

SAT

2240 - 700 Cr, 740 Wr, 800 Math

and uhhhh I'm taking SAT IIs later... and I'm going to take the SAT I again.. and I'm going to get 2350+, I hope. Oh yeah, and 2400 on three SAT IIS i hope... Math IIC Bio M Phys Chem... whichever...

Anyways, I guess it's not helpful that I take IB... in regards to that (forgive my ignorance) IB isn't too common in the United States? Like, I hear AP is all the rage, so I took two AP exams, Physics B and Calc AB... I totally did it out of a random whim... 58/108 on Calc and have yet to take the Phys... I would hope that my score be higher except... I self-taught myself like the entire Calculus AB curriculum within a week or something... (except differentiation, I knew how to do some of that) and the same goes for Physics...

just a side note: if i do badly on AP, do I have to submit my scores when I apply? or can I leave the AP scores section blank on the application as an indication of "I don't wanna reveal my scores" because honestly, I could totally 5 AP, if I covered the material in more than one week (which I will do next year for Calc BC)

Anyways, thanks in advance. I really appreciate this!

I am also an IB student.. Canadian in Shanghai, I would say some US schools like the IB just not the top ones. I think you have a good chance, bigger if you do great essays and don't need aid.

By just looking at your SAT scores, predicted SAT II's scores, GPA, class rank, and extracurricular activities (excluding ethnic background and family income), I'd say your a good candidate for Harvard and the other Ivy League institutions, and like Jane Zhang said, you will have an even greater chance if your essays are superb.

And to answer your question about sending your AP scores, you don't have to send your scores to colleges, you can leave that spot blank when you fill out the paper work, but you can still send them later on.

Sounds good! Thanks:D Anyone else got comments? I want to have as many opinions as possible :D:D

You are a good candidate, but the Ivies are still reaches/slight reaches. Havard, Yale, and Princeton are definate reaches.

What in particular is a reach? Like are my SAT's too low? Because I'm definitely raising those... Are my percentages too low? That might be the case, in which all I can do is improve as the year passses. However, my grades are like THE TOP of my class, and my course load is virtually the toughest you can get. Are my EC's not passionate enough? Because I take piano and youth volunteer work VERY seriously. And now I'm starting out with World Vision and I can see that this will get to be a great passion of mine as well.

RB, there's nothing lacking in your qualifications. HYP are definite reaches for EVERYONE, even with your projected high scores.

the fact remains my friend that no matter what you have as grades or sat's, HPY are always reaches no matter who you are.

Well, unless your name is Leopald III.

It is very simple. You are a great applicant. There are a lot of great applicants. Admissions people choose, as a result, very few of the great applicants. Therefore, your choices are reaches, HYP being the biggest ones (uber-competitivity). Let's look at a hypothetical 12.5% acceptance rate (which is actually higher than Yale this year). 8 people. Let's be generous and assume 3 have non-competitive stats, so 5 people. You have to be chosen from 5 amazing candidates. Since so many things come into play to make admissions seem random, the school becomes a reach. There's nothing wrong with your application at all, you're a wonderful applicant. :)

*Aim for the highest score on the SAT, as you are doing, but be hardcore about it if you want 2350 plus because 1 or 2 questions will determine that.

dont explain your PE score, it doesnt matter at all as long as you reasonably pass

Hmmm... sounds good!
