Hello! I am a rising senior from Connecticut and I’m looking into applying to lots of competitive schools. One of my top choices is Brown because both my parents and grandfather went there, so obviously I am a legacy. My mom went to Brown for undergrad and med school, my dad went for grad school and my grandpa went for undergrad. I’m a white female and I go to a pretty advanced and academically challenging high school. My SAT is a 1470 and my subject tests are 740 and 760. My gpa is a 3.94 out of 4.3 but the highest anyone at my school has gotten is a 4.15. I’m in the top 5 to 10 percent of my class and I have taken 5 APs and am going to take 5 more next year. I play lacrosse, have lots of extracurriculars with leadership positions and a few schoolwide awards/honors. Like I said, my top choice is Brown, and I would like to know my chances of getting in. Would my chances be improved if I applied ED? Are my chances significantly improved because I’m a legacy? What would my chances be at other ivies like Cornell, Dartmouth, and Yale?
I don’t know if this important but I go to a public high school and my intended college major is Biochemistry or Molecular Biology. My weighted gpa is also a 4.89 out of 5.6 and the highest weighted gpa at my school is 5.18
Your chances improve if you apply ED and being a legacy does help. Can you please specify what your ecs and awards are?
