Hi,

Interests of Study: Economics and Mathematics, Mathematics and Philosophy

I would like to know my chances of acceptance based on where I stand now.
Thank you for your time.

Well, your SAT CR score certainly won’t do you much justice with Brown or very many of Brown’s peers. That said, I have a mixed message regarding your ECs. They’re not developed; I can’t look at your ECs and be able to get a picture of who you are or your interests all too clearly. Of course, internationals’ ECs are taken a little differently (mostly because it’s so much easier to fudge this part of your application through outright lying, nepotism, corruption, etc.), so there’s no more I can say.

My advice: work on SAT CR, take a humanities SAT II, and start building a better array of ECs. Go through actual results threads from this year’s ED results or last year’s RD/ED results and pay special attention to the stats and ECs of accepted and rejected students, especially internationals like yourself. Use others’ success/failure stories and try developing your own app accordingly (needless to say, don’t just idiotically pad your app with useless/inane ECs… not a smart idea as a junor).

Not great IMHO

I’d consider it a reach. That 630 in CR is going to hurt you.

Try hiking up that SAT CR score  . A colorful, well written, and interesting essay should help to give you the leg up that you need to get in.

Good luck!
