I am an international student applying for the Fall 2013 session for Computer Science. My school follows the Cambridge GCE syllabus, which means I sat for my O’Level and A’Level exams.

GPA : 3.33 (4 A’s and 3 B’s in my O’Levels and 2 B’s and 1 C in my AS’Level)
SAT : CR-580, M-590, W-610
Honors : Highest Grade in Computer Studies

I haven’t done much community service, but I play the guitar and play eSports competitively (my team is the best in the country), though I have no way of showing these as my EC’s as I don’t have any certificates.

So, what would be my chances at Cal Poly?

I’m not to sure on the average, but you can look to see what numebr you have and if you qualify. CalPoly’s are heavy into GPA and test scores. ECs mean very little. Atleast thats what they told me at our tour witht eh admissions guy at the end. That was at SLO though. CS is impacted and is one of the harder ones to get into.

You should have a good chance since your SAT is decent though your GPA is just average. CS is not an impacted major. On the other hand, Computer Engineering is. Be careful what you read on these boards.

The average SAT score for the college of science last year was about 1100/1600 while for engineering it was about 1170/1600.

CS is in the college of science while CE is in engineering.

Thanks for the information!

If anyone else wants to add more to this, they are more than welcome :)
