What Are My Chances? (Cal Poly Pomona)

What are my chances for...
1. Cal Poly Pomona
2. Cal State Fullerton
3. Cal State Long Beach

My Act composite is 24.
(Got a 26 on the math part)

SAT: 1100
Writing/Reading: 530 each
Math: 570

My GPA is 3.2.

Major: Computer Science

Does my GPA ruin my chances or do I have a good chance?

Thanks!

Is your GPA of 3.2 your CSU GPA? If not, calculate using this site: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

Basing my chances on the 3.2 GPA and SAT score. CS is very competitive, so you need higher Stats than a 3.2 GPA and 1100 SAT score to be competitive.

CSULB: Reach
CSUF/CPP: Low Reach

You should consider less competitive Cal states if you are set on CS such as Monterey Bay, Chico, Sonoma, Channel Islands and San Marcos to name a few.

Would I have a greater chance if I applied to computer engineering? Or is that more competitive?

Also, if I put a non impacted major as my alternate major, could I still be accepted into that one?

Thanks!

Anyone?

No, computer engineering is also impacted so just a competitive. Cal poly pomona does except alternative majors but no all campuses do so you need to check the websites for Long Beach and Fullerton.

CPP may be your best bet if you put a non impacted major as your alternate, but it’s unlikely to be similar to CS.
If you want to study CS, I agree, you need to focus on schools such as Sonoma, Chico, etc.
