<p>Also, whats the difference in admissions statistics between ED I and II?</p>

<p>I can't answer your question but I can tell you that you cannot hide SAT scores, since score choice no longer exists. For a better sense of how you may compare numerically to recent successful applicants, visit the school's Web site and see what the various scores and class ranks of accepted students were for the class of 2009 (and if still available on-line 2008 as well). Obivously non-numerical factors come into play, so that wouldn't be the whole story and that is where your community service and research might be helpful. (Also, at risk of my sounding pompous and self-righteous, let me note that that Davidson prides itself on its honor code, so talking about "hiding" scores, even in jest, seems a little at odds with the school's underlying spirit.)</p>

<p>Your chances look good. If you really like Davidson as your first choice and money is not a concern, then apply ED-I by November 15. ED-II is intended for people who applied ED elsewhere but did not get in and Davidson has become their new number one choice. Apply ED-II by January 2. Davidson's wrestling team is an up and coming program. Their old head coach had a little problem with cocaine and was promptly fired as soon as it was discovered. But the new head coach is excellent. Davidson wrestles in a very competitive league. I don't know how good you are but you might want to send the head coach a tape. It won't factor in your admission, but wrestling can help your overall appearance to the admission staff.</p>

<p>My D2 is there now and had virtually identical test stats and a similar hook, but a higher GPA and class rank.<br>
You MAY have a great shot at some merit money there (in theory, ED is evaluated no differently than RD, but I suspect you have a better shot at this RD if they don't think they have you locked in). It's hard for me to evaluate because I'm not familiar with your school, but, of course, the admissions office will be. You might want to get some idea of how they view your school. We found them to be pretty forthright.
Regardless, see if your school counselor can nominate you for the Belk Scholar program (form is on the website). Even if you don't get the scholarship, being nominated may get your application a little extra early attention.
By the way, I didn't think you meant "hiding" as anything nefarious; you are merely choosing to report only those scores you're required to report. Mattmom is correct, however, that all your SAT scores get reported, but i would expect the math score will be ignored in favor of a better score when you take the higher level math SAT II. She is also absolutely right about respect for the Honor Code; it is taken VERY seriously there.
Good luck! (Great work by the way).</p>
